The selected consultant will be required to:
-Review and provide a comprehensive analysis of the multiple dimensions of food
security in cocoa growing communities at the household level linking it to
sustainable livelihoods
-Review existing studies on living income in relation to their contribution
to nutrition and food security in the cocoa-based farming communities
-Analyze the impact of activities and interventions on nutritional diet
at the household level food crops production, stocks, purchases, or food
transfers from relatives, neighbors, government or donors, % diet, etc.
-Perform a household assessment to capture the household demography, wealth
and expenditures patterns; the cause of food insecurity and strategies developed
by cocoa farmers to reduce vulnerability to food insecurity
-Examine the relationship between cocoa production and food security including
tradeoffs and synergies between cocoa and the multiple dimensions of food
security.

JOB PROFILE

Onyx is looking for a consultant (from Cameroon or an expert living in Cameroon) to be part of his team for a study in three countries in Africa.

• Agricultural Economist or Economist  with at least a Master Degree
• At least 10 years of experience in surveys and data analyses on rural households' livelihood and food security
• Experience or knoweledge of the cocoa sector at the farm level in Cameroon will be an asset
• Experience in research activities will also be an asset
• Bilingual English/French
