Job Summary
The role will be hands-on, and range from working with all internal stakeholders, mostly the plant team, to source raw materials, parts and service component, evaluating potential suppliers and identifying cost/feature trade-offs, managing supplier relationships
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process)
- A professional certification is highly desirable
- Eight (08) years of extensive experience in sourcing/strategic purchasing role in an industrial company, with at least three (03) years in a supervisory position
- Prior exposure to the Cement business would be an asset, and working knowledge of SAP is a must

- Strong negotiating skills to obtain favourable pricing and terms for procurement.
- Accepts responsibility, is self-motivated and accountable for achieving implementation and plant targets, willing and able to assume additional responsibilities on short notice.
- Good understanding of technical issues related to service/parts and vendor selection.
- Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits and capability building agenda is successfully delivered.
- Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicts and adversarial relationships.
- Ability to assess potential and risks associated with supplier and market changes, and integrate with sourcing strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement the procurement strategy in close cooperation with all internal stakeholders
- Lead and manage the sourcing for plant products/parts & services, administration products/parts & services and alignment for raw materials with his key internal stakeholders
- Manage the operational and tactical Procurement of goods and services categories in accordance with the Group’s strategy and applicable policies and procedures.
- Identify saving opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at all levels.
- Negotiate in close coordination with all internal stakeholders for local volumes, processes, quality and prices
- Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in his area of expertise
- Achieve competitive rates with domestic material suppliers for both purchasing and distribution functions
- Achieve a high level of supplier relations and vendor diversification
- Develop and enforce vendor vetting and quality control requirements
- Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving highest possible ability for on time material deliveries
- Provide accurate quarterly and yearly equipment investment planning
- Reduce landing costs of imported materials through cost control
- Maintain import/export regulation compliance
- Develop and maintain a Purchase-to-pay process according to the Group guidelines
- Analyze and report future material supply and demands while advising a course of action to management
- Develop and implement SOP and relevant KPIs for all department’s activities
- Develop and manage vendor relationships
- Create a purchasing process that allows for efficient procurement, decision making while ensuring all quality gates are adhered to
