We are looking to recruit a Shoot Edit to work in Yaounde on a continuing contract.
Your role as Shoot Edit will include shooting and editing material for long and short form programming, outside broadcasts, online, newsgathering in the field, live or recorded, often edited in the field, to feed material back to base, utilising the latest technology. You will advise on all aspects of camera coverage and editing throughout the production process and be a constant source of imaginative and realistic alternative filming and editing treatments.
You may be required to travel at short notice (sometimes to hostile environments), therefore flexibility is essential.
The successful candidate will be a fluent French and English speaker and writer, with demonstrable experience of working in a news broadcasting environment. Knowledge of African issues and current affairs is essential. You will have experience of filming, editing and packaging content for TV and radio platforms, with the relevant craft skills (camera work, lighting, editing). Excellent digital skills are important. You must be able to operate current broadcast technical equipment on location and at base, demonstrating a well-developed sense of visual awareness and a willingness to learn how to use new technology and kit.
