We are looking to recruit a Reporter to work in Yaounde on a continuing contract.
With excellent French and English language skills, you will have experience of field reporting, delivering creative output for digital and social media platforms. An excellent knowledge of local, regional and international news and current affairs is essential, including a good understanding of a broad editorial agenda. You will have knowledge of and recent experience of living in the target area, including a good understanding of the complexities of the target region. You will have good local contacts. The ability to work under pressure and react to breaking news is essential. You must be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently.
The successful candidate will have an excellent command of English and French language (both written and spoken), with a strong journalistic and reporting background. You must have a thorough knowledge of regional and international affairs. You will have a strong broadcasting voice and a track record of accuracy and impartiality. Experience of reporting in the field on issues in the target region is important.
